Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46-52) did not struggle to believe. There was no prayer meeting in Jericho to prepare the people’s hearts for Jesus’ arrival. No worship team or preacher. No religious gathering. It was only Jesus. And Jesus is all that was needed to be for Bartimaeus to believe for his healing.
Everyone has the capacity to believe. It requires no special skill or strength. It is not a mental game but simple trust that God is present and will do what He has promised to do.
I recall the frustration of watching my uncle and grandfather milking a cow with great ease. “Only squeeze” they said. It took a lot of awkward “squeezing” to learn how to “squeeze” it right so that the milk began to flow… and the small amount of milk I got (from all my squeezing) would not have even satisfied a kitten!
We squeeze milk out of a cow, but we cannot squeeze healing from God. HE GIVES IT WITHOUT STRUGGLE! …God gave Israel a land flowing with milk and honey. (Exodus 3:17) The land was for them. Healing is for you!
