Mission and Vision
The Nations Hope
“…and on His name shall the nations hope.”
Matthew 12:21
A Good News initiative proclaiming the God of hope.
Our mission
Our mission is to see Christ in you.
In Jesus Christ, God has come to us and given Himself for us, reconciling the world to Himself. He is risen, His love is still at work, and He is our hope today.
We tell what God has done, help you meet Christ, and watch His life take shape in you. As we come to know Him, we learn to see one another more truly – and Christ becomes visible among us.
Our approach
This is our approach in a nutshell. It is the shape of everything below, and the same three movements carry our discipleship work.

1
Discovering the God of Hope
We follow the living Christ, who meets us with real hope and a new way to live. His life becomes the light by which we see ourselves, others, and the world. With joy, we receive others into the same ongoing discovery.

2
Living Life in Love
We become more like Christ as we learn to love the people closest to us. In the give and take of real relationships, His love shapes our character, words, and actions with grace and truth – forming forgiving hearts, courageous kindness, and practical care that makes relationships whole.

3
Releasing the Blessing
Everything we have comes from Christ, who has joined Himself to us. What we have, we give. As we love the people in front of us, the Spirit brings our gifts to light and puts them to use, and hope reaches a marriage, a child, a family, a neighbourhood, a nation. The world is reshaped by people who are glad in Christ.
What we do
The Nations Hope exists to make the hope of Jesus clear: in media, in gatherings, in training, and in the ordinary places where people live.
Media
Video, writing, and shows for the places where people already watch, listen, and read. That includes people far from a church, and people who cannot get to one. We keep it clear, warm, and glad.
Hope Festivals
City-wide gatherings that unite local churches to proclaim Jesus publicly, pray for the sick, and equip believers. Each one is built to leave those churches stronger after we have gone, and to open into discipleship that carries on locally.
Training and discipleship
Practical resources that help believers understand the gospel and live it in everyday life. Simple enough for a group of three or four to use on their own, deep enough to shape who a person is, and built to be handed on to other churches and ministries.
Relational care and presence
Person-to-person ministry in ordinary, everyday places: prayer, pastoral conversation, practical care. We train believers to be present to the people already beside them, one street and one neighbour at a time, because the nations begin at our door.

Where we work
Based in Singapore. We work alongside local churches and leaders across the region and beyond.
We confess Jesus Christ as true God and true man, and hold the historic Christian faith as the Church has confessed it in the Nicene Creed and the Definition of Chalcedon.

Our story
Jason Betler founded The Nations Hope in 2004 and has served from Singapore since 2008, with his family. The longer account – Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Africa, Germany, San Jose, and how any of it led here – is on its own page.
“…and in Him shall the nations hope. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:12–13
