Our Story

About Jason Betler

Jason Betler is the founding evangelist of The Nations Hope and serves as a regional minister with The Foursquare Church. He has served alongside Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and pastored a Foursquare church in San Jose, California (USA). A passionate preacher of the good news of Jesus Christ, Jason has ministered throughout Asia since 2005—proclaiming hope in Christ and strengthening the body of believers.

Early Life & Calling

Jason grew up near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA), in a small church community where he learned Scripture and hymns from a young age. Though familiar with faith, he did not personally encounter Jesus until 1993, when he prayed a simple but life-changing prayer during a music audition in Baltimore, Maryland.

“Jesus found me right where I was—no preacher or service, just Him and me,” Jason recalls. “When I prayed, ‘Jesus, I could use you right now,’ everything changed. I was clean, forgiven, and loved. My world changed in that moment.”

At the time, Jason was a music student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and his new faith quickly overflowed—he began sharing Jesus with everyone he met. A year later, while watching a Christian TV interview with Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, Jason sensed a divine spark: “That’s the real thing—and that’s what I want to do!”

Training & Ministry Formation

In 1997, Jason moved to Orlando, Florida, where he met Matthias Schleier from Christ for all Nations (CfaN)—the ministry of Reinhard Bonnke. Soon after, Jason joined the CfaN team and later became Bonnke’s Personal Assistant, traveling with him and witnessing God’s power as millions came to faith in Jesus Christ.

During that time, Jason’s heart began to burn for Asia. A visit to CfaN’s German office led to a providential meeting with Angelique, who shared a vision for reaching people in Asia. They were married in 2003, and together they founded The Nations Hope in 2004.

The Nations Hope

With Evangelist Bonnke’s blessing, Jason launched The Nations Hope—a ministry dedicated to evangelism, discipleship, and raising up believers to live in the power of the gospel. In 2008, Jason and Angelique relocated to Singapore with their young family and later expanded their ministry to Indonesia and other Southeast Asian nations.

Gospel campaigns drew thousands in unlikely and often overlooked regions. Many experienced healing, reconciliation, and the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Jason continues to minister through crusades, leadership training, conferences, and marketplace gatherings—calling people to faith and revival across Asia and beyond.

Recent Years

In 2015, the Lord led the Betler family—now including their youngest son, Jeremiah—to plant a church in San Jose, California, where they pastored for five years. In 2020, they returned to focus fully on The Nations Hope and other evangelistic initiatives. Today, they are based in Singapore, serving as regional missionaries with Foursquare Missions International (FMI) and proclaiming the gospel throughout the nations.

We are forever grateful to Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke (1940-1919) and the Christ for all Nations team. Pastor Bonnke’s example, mentoring, friendship and love has meant the world to us. We honor him as we continue to preach the glorious gospel of Christ; plundering hell to populate heaven for Calvary’s sake.

With Gratitude

Reinhard Bonnke entered into his heavenly reward in December 2019. He was mightily used by God as one of the most effective evangelists of our time. He was also a father in ministry to Jason Betler, who served as Bonnke’s personal assistant in the early 2000’s. The influence of this working relationship led to Jason launching a ministry with a similar evangelistic DNA; The Nations Hope.
